Job Description

The purpose for this position is to support the Quality department by overseeing the calibration of measurement devices and to support plant-wide calibration activities to ensure all measurement devices comply with QMS and IATF monitoring and measurement requirements.



Responsibilities:



  1. Perform CMM operations, to include line outputs to meet drawing specifications, development and sample measurements to validate process capability and/or improvements
  2. Monitor and maintain customer CMM validation measurements.
  3. Manage the Tipton Calibration process, including monthly calibrations to meet schedules, software updates to ensure calibration records, and trouble shooting in multiple areas involving CMM, calibrated devices and measuring equipment (such as ECFs).
  4. Conduct fixture verifications and ensure compliance to engineering changes and specification controls.
  5. Communicate nonconformances, prior run problems, potential failures, field problems and complaints to applicable people; utilize Quality Improvement Process to promote quality.
  6. Analyze and document MSA results for training classes.
  7. Issue inspector cards to new hires.
  8. Audit hold forms and tags to ensure information and quantities are correct.
  9. Purge annual files per record retention policy.


Requirements:



  • Prior CMM experience and programming as well as competency in operating and programming using PCDIMS software is desired.
  • Must be familiar with MSOffice and the ability to prepare spreadsheets, work instructions and department presentations for internal and external review.
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret blueprints, use part specifications to ensure part measurement concepts, GD&T knowledge, understand CAD data and related CMM operations preferred
  • Prior understanding of calibration/metrology applications and ability to support plant calibration activities.
  • Understanding of MSA requirements and concepts for tools, gauges, and other measurement devices
  • Ability to understand Vitro and IATF QMS requirements for measurement and calibration outputs throughout the plant.
