The NYC Department of Transportation is seeking to hire 2 City Attendants to support the daily operations of the mailroom by performing a variety of tasks related to the receipt, sorting, delivery, and dispatch of inter-office and U.S. mail. Under direct supervision by the Director of Mail Services & Store the City Attendant will and assist in various functions, such as mail distribution, incoming and outgoing mail & parcels, prepare reports, correspondence, track all certified mail, special deliveries and liaison with USPS, UPS and FEDEX. This role includes various responsibilities within the mailroom as assigned and necessary: Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements Preferred Skills
-Previous experience in a mailroom or facilities operations setting. -Familiarity with USPS mailing requirements and metering equipment. -Ability to lift and move parcels up to 70lbs and perform physical tasks related to maintenance. -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. -Ability to follow schedules and work independently or as part of a team. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
