Overview

The Business Generation Consultant Lead (BGCL) plays a strategic role within the AmTrust sales organization by driving new business growth and optimizing submission follow-through. This position requires a highly motivated, relationship-driven sales professional with strong leadership capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external agents/brokers. The BGCL will serve as a subject matter expert in AmTrust product lines, sales processes, lead generation strategies, and agent engagement best practices. This role emphasizes proactive outreach and development of new business opportunities to meet and exceed performance goals. The BGCL maintains a strong understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values and ensures alignment to organizational standards.



Responsibilities

    Sales Leadership & Business Development

    1. Lead the identification of quoted and incomplete submission opportunities and ensure timely and strategic follow-up.
    2. Personally manage high-value agent relationships and consult with agencies/brokers to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities.
    3. Drive cross-sell initiatives across product lines such as BOP, CPP, and cyber.
    4. Develop outreach plans, call strategies, and pipeline management best practices for the sales and underwriting team.
    5. Monitor agent/broker performance metrics, track activity levels, and recommend process improvements.
    6. Conduct training sessions, knowledge-sharing meetings, and skill-building workshops for agents/brokers and AmTrust policyholders.

    Agent Engagement & Training

    1. Lead and deliver online training webinars for agents/brokers, ensuring clarity, engagement, and product expertise.
    2. Strengthen broker engagement through ongoing relationship management, strategic follow-ups, and cross-department collaboration.
    3. Facilitate resolution of agency service issues and ensure timely responsiveness and communication.

    Operational Excellence

    1. Track and record follow-up, cross-sell activity, and pipeline management with a high level of accuracy.
    2. Stay current with market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging business opportunities to guide team strategy.
    3. Assist in special projects, pilot programs, or new initiatives as assigned.
    4. Occasional travel to agents to further develop business relationships as needed.


Qualifications

  • Required

    • 2+ years of experience in sales, inside sales, business development, or a related role within insurance or financial services.
    • Highly self-motivated, competitive, and results-oriented.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with agents, brokers, and internal colleagues at all levels.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with sales metrics, CRM tools, and reporting dashboards.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive team performance.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
    • Working knowledge of underwriting workflows, agency management systems, or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
    • Strong presentation and webinar-facilitation skills.

The expected salary range for this role is $50,050-77,000 annual
