Based out of Beaverton Oregon, a B2B photonics test-equipment manufacturer specializing in optical fiber and cable testing solutions for the telecom and fiber-optics industry, is interested in hiring a Junior Buyer to their team. This position is a long term opportunity with room for growth! The team is looking for candidates with 1 - 3 years of purchasing, supply chain, or operations support experience! Job Summary: This role will handle emails, respond to inquiries, follow up on tasks, and perform basic ERP data entry accurately, focusing on processing POs without needing supplier negotiation or contract skills. Mastering the system, building supplier relationships, and eventually progressing to supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing, but initially focusing on basic skills like punctuality and being a self-starter. Job Description - * Transactional Buying * Process purchase requisitions into POs accurately and on time * Place orders with approved suppliers per BOM and planning signals * Confirm pricing, quantities, and delivery dates * Track acknowledgements and follow up on missing confirmations * Supplier & Order Follow-Up * Monitor open POs and chase late or at-risk deliveries * Update promised dates in ERP based on supplier feedback * Escalate shortages or date slips promptly * Data & Admin Support * Maintain clean PO records in ERP * Support basic vendor setup and documentation * Assist with backlog cleanup and routine reporting (open PO lists, shortages) Skills & Qualifications * 0-3 years experience in purchasing, supply chain, or operations support * Strong attention to detail and follow-through * Comfort with repetitive transactional work * Basic ERP or MRP exposure preferred * Max Exact ERP system preferred Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
