How You'll Contribute to the Team:

The Resident Collection Specialist facilitates the day-to-day administration of the delinquency management program for assigned military housing partnerships, adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable Fair Housing laws. This remote role requires a confident communicator with a strong customer focus, ability to overcome objections and a patient and professional demeanor. The ability to reduce delinquent accounts to support the portfolio's revenue goals, while providing the resident with a positive customer experience, is at the forefront of this role.

While the role is remote, we do require that the successful candidate live within a reasonable driving distance to one of the 7 military bases where we have housing which are as follows: Ft. Rucker, AL, Ft. Riley, KS, Ft. Polk, LA, Ft. Meade, MD, Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), MD, Ft. Bragg, NC, and Ft. Sill, OK.

Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Monitor and manage resident accounts to ensure timely delinquency collection from past due rent and/or other miscellaneous charges, including outstanding balances from former residents.
  • Facilitate collection procedures adhering to Company standard operating procedures and Fair Housing laws and guidelines.
  • Monitor, prioritize, and update records of contact and payment activity through all phases of the collections process in the property management software system. Proactively follow up with current and past residents until all outstanding balances are paid per SOP guidelines.
  • Resolve customer issues and concerns regarding balances owed.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and review ad hoc and regularly scheduled reports; ensure all requisite information is accurate and available within required timeframes. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or accounts.
  • Communicate and provide regular reporting on delinquent status to team members, on-site property management teams, and Accounting.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with current and past residents by promptly and thoroughly responding to resident concerns, questions, and requests while adhering to company policies and fair housing guidelines.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely residents' records and tenant ledgers.
  • Maintain confidential electronic files and records; safeguard the integrity of confidential information and conversations.
  • Champion the Corvias culture, mission, vision, and values, and maintain the highest standards of business professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Role Specific Requirements Include:



  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in property management or customer service; strongly prefer administrative experience with collections, general billing, or other financial-related matter.
  • Demonstrable understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of database and debt collection software to update records and interpret payment information
  • Research skills to identify customers and investigate errors that may lead to inaccurate reporting of debts
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to overcome obstacles to collecting payment.
  • Ability to confidently communicate with residents using tact and diplomacy to navigate difficult situations and settle differences in a manner that strengthens relationships.
  • Detail and process oriented with the ability to adhere to program guidelines and standard operating procedures and workflows to maintain efficiency and operational consistency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information and ideas with clarity and precision through phone, email, and text communication.
  • Customer-focused with empathy for the customer experience while overcoming objections to collecting owed balances.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated to be productive, and possess a positive attitude, operating well in a remote team environment that is focused on collaboration and accountability.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with little oversight.
  • Computer proficient, including working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Proven competency utilizing customer relationship management tools to track interactions and follow up effectively preferred.
  • Ability to act with integrity, honesty, and professionalism at all times.

The hourly rate for this position is estimated to be $18.00 to $20.00 an hour depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and work location.
