As an Emergency Management Specialist I (ERL), you will be a vital contributor in strengthening the relationships, readiness, and regulatory alignment of our Emergency Response Liaison (ERL) program across GTM's U.S. and Canadian regions. You will support, guide, and train internal teams and external first responders to ensure we maintain a consistent, effective, and compliant ERL program. What you will do:
Lead GTM in the continued development and standardization of a harmonized ERL process across all GTM regions. Provide governance and oversight for ERL planning, execution, tracking, and reporting to ensure regulatory and program compliance. Deliver ERL-related training to both internal stakeholders and external first responder partners. Monitor and evaluate stakeholder and first responder feedback; provide technical expertise and drive continuous improvement. Support GTM Operations and field personnel with ERL activities and maintain alignment with the Public Awareness program. Oversee the multiyear ERL program lifecycle across GTM. Serve as the Emergency Management lead for solutions and initiatives tied to ERL implementation. Provide technical expertise in the Incident Command Structure during complex regional exercises or emergency responses. Participate in internal and external audits related to Emergency Management programs. Support the Emergency Management Program team and lead special initiatives as assigned.
Who you are: Required:
University degree in occupational health and safety, environmental studies, emergency response, or a related field. 7+ years of progressively responsible emergency response experience, ideally within the oil and gas industry. Strong understanding of emergency response regulations and standards within Canada and the U.S. Demonstrated problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, including during crisis situations. Outstanding organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proven ability to innovate, influence change, and deliver results.
Preferred:
Knowledge of industry best practices related to Emergency Responder Liaison and Public Awareness programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong strategic and conceptual thinking abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools. Other combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions:
Officebased role involving significant computer, communication, and research work. Travel of approximately 10-15% to offices and field locations across the U.S. and Canada. Flexibility to work extended hours or multiple days onsite during emergency responses.
