About the Role:
The Electrical Control Subsystems Staff Engineer will retain responsibility for development and release of a susbset or the entirety of the Controls infrastructure for Controls Systems and Sub systems for assigned programs. The role entails engagement inConcept Definition and Architecting, Sub-systems Engineering, Controls Engineering and Development for the delivery of TDP artifacts for conventional, hybrid electric and fully electric powertrains and Mobility Solutions for ground combat vehicles.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
This position will be responsible for the following but not limite:
  • Development and implementation of controls solutions to meet Mobility requirements for multiple Powerpack configurations using different Engine, Transmission, MGU, Cooling, Air handling and Final drive configurations and components.
  • Liaise directly or indirectly with suppliers of Powerpack modules and components.
  • Component through to System level responsibility.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders including IPT lead, Physical Architect, Systems Engineers, Functional Leadership, FUPP Lead, Chief Engineer, Logistics, Manufacturing and attribute managers/stake holders.
  • Support internal report out to program stakeholders, customers and organizational leadership.
  • Derive final intent pathways and refine to release and approval using prescribed GDLS processes.
  • Support internal and external Milestones/Gateways.
  • Document and Report findings and outcomes.


Qualifications Sought for this role:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineer, or similar engineering discipline. Masters degree a plus
  • 7-10+ years engineering experience with 4+ working with industrial controls experience
  • Experience with the following sought:
    • Electrical Subsystem Design, Integration, Troubleshooting and Test
    • Electrical Integration of Subsystem into the System
    • Data Collection and Analysis
    • Electrical Harness Design
    • Controls Development
    • Software Requirement Development and Collaberation with Software Team
    • Electrical Schematic Development
    • CANbus/Ethernet Experience
    • Fault and Database Development
  • Mobility Systems and/or Electro-Mechanical Design and Test
    • Drive by wire
    • HV/LV Power Distribution
    • Cooling
    • Powerpack (Engine, transmission, Motor/Generator)
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and posses the mind-set to work collaboratively in a team environment and build consensus for program success.
    • Proven skills in the development of technical documents and oral communication.
    • Analytical skills and ability to direct and consult on technical analyses.
    • Must be willing to travel (domestic and/or foreign) as needed (15%).
    • Proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office with adequate computer skills to manage the development of presentations and other methods of media display.
    • Knowledge of business finances, project budget management and forecasting, scheduling tools, and critical path analysis.

  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance) No sponsorship offered.

  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
