Job Summary

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with established procedures. This role assists with payroll auditing, reporting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries while maintaining organized records and documentation. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. This position is onsite five days per week during initial training and onboarding, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule once fully trained and performing independently.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assist with pre- and post-payroll auditing, reconciliation procedures, and troubleshooting discrepancies



  • Generate and distribute standard and ad hoc payroll reports to internal teams



  • Process and manage daily departmental mail



  • Support employment verification requests in a timely and confidential manner



  • Assist with the collection, documentation, and record keeping of payroll overpayments



  • Perform historical correction data entry related to time tracking



  • Support unemployment claim management and reporting



  • Assist with occupational statistics reporting requirements



  • Contribute to monthly tax and garnishment reconciliation processes



  • Assist with payroll accrual reporting activities



  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through the shared payroll inbox and ticketing system



  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information




Job Requirements




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications



  • Strong organizational and time management skills



  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion



  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities



  • General knowledge of payroll processes and procedures



  • Familiarity with Human Capital Management (HCM) systems preferred



  • Workday experience preferred but not required



  • Background in HR or payroll functions preferred



  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally




Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent required



  • Additional coursework or degree in business, accounting, human resources, or a related field preferred but not required




Work Experience




  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional work environment



  • Prior payroll or HR-related experience preferred
