Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The purpose of the UNCG Financial Aid Office is to provide students and their families with the resources necessary for financing the pursuit of higher education. Funding options administered by the FAO include need-based, non-need-based, grant, scholarship, loan, work study, federal, state, institutional, and outside monies. In addition, the primary purposes of the FAO are:

  • To develop policy and implement procedures that work with regulatory compliance for the $200,000,000 in financial aid assistance administered yearly by the University.
  • To assist in realizing the mission and ideals of the University.
  • To offer effective and timely communication of financial aid eligibility criteria and receipt guidelines to the entire University community.
  • To work to provide a quality environment and enriching experience to all members of the University community.
  • To work collaboratively with other university offices to achieve success of the university.
  • To develop goals in recruitment, retention, and graduation rates with respect to our policies and procedures.

Position Summary
This position oversees all aspects of the Satisfactory Academic Progress policy and process and the Return to Title Four Process. These are two areas with high compliance-related activity. This position also oversees the Unusual Enrollment History process. This position works with students, faculty, and staff to execute the processes involved in this role. This position is also expected to provide executive-level reporting with comparison data analysis. This position requires the Assistant Director to have an expert level of knowledge of financial aid policy, discernment skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Relevant Master's degree or relevant Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Financial Aid, Higher Education, or a related field.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree and five years of relevant financial aid experience.
