What you'll do:

This Project Coordinator role will play a critical part in advancing Western Alliance Bank's Preferred and Small Business Banking strategy. Its primary focus will be identifying and refining market segmentation opportunities to better understand the unique needs of key consumer and small business segments.
The position will help shape and deliver the expansion of Western Alliance Bank's consumer banking strategy, working across Product, Digital, Marketing, Data, and Technology to support new product development and enhancement of existing offerings. A major responsibility includes documenting the complete end to end customer experience, ensuring every touchpoint is clearly defined and optimized for clarity, consistency, and impact.
This role will also connect multiple product and technology roadmaps, creating alignment across teams and enabling a unified view of future capabilities. By bringing these workstreams together, the position ensures that strategic intent is translated into clear, coordinated execution.
Overall, this role will drive strategic focus, cross functional alignment, and customer centered improvements that strengthen Western Alliance Bank's presence and competitiveness in Preferred and Small Business Banking.

This is a SkillBridge opportunity - Selected active duty US military members will perform in highly skilled roles prior to transitioning out of the military while on active duty to bridge the gap between valuable military service and civilian work experience through specific industry training with an industry partner during final 6 months of active duty service

Job Description

  • Maintain, monitor, and update initiative schedules, ensuring all workstreams tied to market segmentation, product development, and customerexperience mapping stay on track. Communicate progress updates and escalate timing or dependency concerns to leadership as needed.
  • Support crossfunctional teams by organizing and maintaining key strategic artifacts, including customerjourney documentation, segmentation insights, and productreadiness materials. Prepare meeting notes, consolidate feedback, and distribute summaries to ensure alignment across Product, Digital, Marketing, Data, and Technology partners.
  • Track and report resource allocations across product, analytics, and technology teams to ensure appropriate capacity for consumerbanking initiatives. Confirm time and effort commitments and surface any resourcing gaps that may impact roadmap delivery.
  • Monitor and document risks, dependencies, and open issues tied to customerexperience design, product development milestones, and technology roadmap alignment. Track mitigation actions and follow up on target completion dates, escalating when items may affect critical path execution.

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of related experience in Project Management or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Entry level knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services preferred.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Entry level to intermediate experience working on project-based teams required.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of project management and IT software development methodologies (Waterfall/SDLC) preferred.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Project Management Professional preferred.
