Assistant Professor of Practice - Social Work (Online) 43711BR SASW Position Description Sociology, Anthropology & Social Work (SASW) in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Assistant Professor of Practice position in Social Work to begin 09/01/2026. About the College Founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges, the College of Arts and Sciences is comprised of 15 departments offering a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and natural sciences. About the Department/School/Area About the Social Work Program The Social Work Program is housed in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. Accreditation with CSWE was initially granted in 1979 for the BA in social work degree. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program, offering an advanced generalist approach with a focus on health and well-being, was established in 2015 and is fully accredited through 2031. Today, twelve full-time faculty lines and two full-time staff positions are dedicated to the preparation of BASW and MSW level students. Primary responsibilities normally will be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
