The Sr. Programmer & Database Administrator II position performs statistical programming in R and other statistical software for use by biostatisticians and epidemiologists who collaborate in the conduct of major clinical studies.
Essential duties include:
* Performs statistical programming and analysis for study statisticians.
* Communicates with various user groups to gather and analyze requirements and promote correct interpretation and use according to organizational needs.
* Resolves complex R/
SAS programming issues and provides technical mentorship to statistical team members.
* Develops and maintains existing systems and processes, including standardized internal R packages and automated shell scripts for project setup.
* Plans and develops applications necessary for the daily support of clinical trials systems, utilizing appropriate tools to identify and address problems.
* Maintains and enhances existing systems in accordance with protocol and sponsor rules and regulations; administers centralized version control (
SVN) for the statistical programming team.
* Reviews, updates, and authors Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
* Creates productivity-enhancing tools for team members, including sample report frameworks and hyperlinked
SOP lookup systems.
* Implements, patches, and upgrades existing systems as needed.
* Troubleshoots systems as needed, codes, tests, documents, and implements solutions as required.
* Assists business and technical users in interpreting and applying laws and policies governing protection of confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information.
* Works with Investigators, Statisticians, and staff to coordinate the upgrade and maintenance of systems.
* Communicates with, and provides support for, local and remote users at clinical sites.
* Collaborates with local Application Development team members and provides input and guidance on current and future research application systems.
