The Senior Supervisor, Operations and Strategic Initiatives at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard, will serve as the key operational leader for the Broad's Founding Director, Dr. Eric Lander, ensuring the smooth execution of his day-to-day
priorities and coordination of operations with Broad's internal scientific and administrative teams.You will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative, operational, and project support, facilitating internal communication, and coordinating cross-functional efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support: Contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives and operational objectives as directed by Dr. Lander.
  • Project Management: Manage and track operational and high-level projects, specific initiatives, and external alliances led, co-led, or coordinated by Dr. Lander, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans.
  • Administrative Team Management: Manage and guide the administrative support function in the Office of the Founding Director, including Administrative Assistants, fostering a collaborative culture and ensuring consistent support. Assist with the onboarding process for new administrative staff in the ESL Office and the Lander Lab.
  • Executive Support: Staff key meetings, including preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items. Draft routine correspondence and documentation. Assist in identifying potential operational roadblocks. Will provide high level support for the Science Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Internal Coordination: Build and maintain working relationships with internal administrative teams and colleagues across science and administration.
  • Serve as a primary internal point-of-contact for operational engagement with Broad's administrative functions.
  • Communication Facilitation: Serve as a coordinator for communications within the Founding Director's office and collaborate with Broad's Communications team for alignment on internal messaging.
  • Decision Support: Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to provide actionable information and insights that aid in operational decision-making.
  • Lab Support: Collaborate closely with Dr. Lander, lab staff, and Broad's administrative functions to ensure smooth running of the lab, appropriate staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Other duties as assigned and as needs change.

Qualifications:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to analyze data and provide clear reports.
  • Effective teamwork and coordination skills, with the ability to guide and motivate others.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficient execution.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality

The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
