Overview

The Energy Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager. This dynamic leader will be responsible for a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers. This role offers flexibility sitting out of the following office locations:

  • Kennesaw, GA
  • Tampa, FL

Responsibilities

You will inspire your team to tackle complex challenges, guiding their growth while fostering a culture of excellence. You will build lasting client relationships, balance critical projects, and recruit top talent-all while fueling the company's growth.

  • Leadership & Staff Development: Demonstrate technical and personnel leadership, providing resolution to technical issues, growth and development of staff while minimizing attrition and supporting the growth and success of this rapidly growing group. Perform day-to-day staff management, perform annual reviews, promote the career and technical growth of staff. Recruit, interview, and hire staff. Develop performance improvement plans for staff as required. Identify and develop future leaders of the organization.
  • Client & Business Development: Maintain external client relationships, resolve conflicts and concerns with clients, and develop client relationships to win Engineer of Choice contracts. Support ENERCON's Business Development (BD) team. Contribute to proposals by prepping technical scope and estimating labor hours
  • Project & Task Management: At a Major Projects level, hold weekly meetings with direct reports to ensure the maintenance of schedules, budgets, and excellent quality of deliverables. Assign tasks to balance workload and review, approve, and, if applicable, affix a professional engineer's seal to documents
  • Technical Expertise: Possess Electrical design and engineering consulting experience, preferably within the power generation or large industrial facility markets #LI-SH7

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required
  • 10+ years of design engineering experience in the Power Industry
  • Candidate must have active PE license or be willing to obtain active PE license
  • Prior experience with the Fossil Power Generation and Industrial sectors is strongly desired
  • Knowledge of applicable government codes and industry standards. Example, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and IEC
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with staff, clients (internal and external), management; choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
  • Experience with Renewable Energy including Solar and BESS
  • Experience with grass-roots design of power plant systems
  • Strong technical writing, attention to detail, and human performance skills
  • Strong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams
  • Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate
  • Ability to motivate team members and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Required to travel up to 20+% of the time to client sites for project meetings, marketing meetings, and conferences and to travel between ENERCON offices to meet with staff and leadership.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
