Position summary:

This important role will supervise a team of storekeepers assigned to maintain materials inventory in warehouses and unattended locations in conjunction with warehouse location oversight, ensuring key processes (planning, replenishment, blanket purchase orders, inventory stocking levels, are provided to keep the Company's operations running optimally. Interact with assigned operating areas, legal staff, procurement, and supplier community to carry out duties. Ensures compliance with SOX and Supply Chain Policies and Procedures

Pay Range: $93,150 - $139,900 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship: Materials Manager

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:
* Supervise a team of storekeepers and/or material coordinators assigned to maintain materials inventory in key warehouses in addition to overall day-to-day responsibilities for the unloading, receipt, check-in, storage, control, and issuance of materials, equipment and parts ordered by the Company.
* Ensure high quality and safety-conscious processes and practices are in place for warehouse/ store management including unloading, receipt, check-in, storage, control, and issuance of materials, equipment and parts.
* Responsible for management of materials movement from suppliers to team members.
* Actively own the total cost of ownership and cost of inventory for areas of responsibility while maintaining quality and avoiding any unplanned stock-outs and downtime.
* Identify process and technology improvements in the materials management area.
* Work proactively with operations to plan and forecast material needs on a regular basis.
* Recommend and communicate materials management improvements, progress and results to Operations and Supply Chain management.
* Monitor and act on performance indicators that support processes and procedures are being followed withing the organization.
* Ensure inventory accuracy and timeliness of transactions is evident in all areas of the business to maintain accurate financial reporting is in place

Additional Responsibilities:
* Maintain updated knowledge of rules, regulations and standards in the field of materials management and related matters of interest to the department/division.
* Work cooperatively with company and vendor employees

What Is Required:
* Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of (3) three years of analytical, materials management, supply chain and/or supervisory experience
* Knowledge of materials management procedures including unloading, receipt, check-in, storage, control, and issuance of materials.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.

What Is Desired:
* Experience working at a major gas or electric utility is helpful.
* Knowledge of cost reduction analysis approaches.
* Solid understanding of warehouse materials management systems (e.g , PeopleSoft inventory manager, PeopleSoft MIM, STORMS, etc.).
* High-energy self-starter with a desire to work in a multifaceted environment.
* Ability to communicate at all management levels within a customer organization.
* Ability to develop creative solutions to business problems.
* Goal and deadline oriented
