Job Summary

The Electronic Test & Repair Technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, calibration and repairing of mechanical, electrical, and electronic assemblies and systems. This position works with production and engineering setups, installations, testing, certification, and repair.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tests production product to ensure proper operation per established test criteria
  • Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine cause and remedy of any malfunction
  • Build, document, test, and repair jigs and test fixtures
  • Maintain electronic equipment and instruments for manufacturing
  • Developing Manufacturing Procedures
  • Design, purchase, installation, and validation of the Company's automatic assembly equipment
  • Perform Verification and Validation Tests
  • Order, receive, Organize and maintain tools and parts for manufacturing
  • Train Manufacturing Associates
  • Perform failure analysis testing on production and returned sensors
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional travel to Mexicali, Mexico is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of Electronic Test Technician experience
  • Experience with electrical/optical products
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting (to component level) and problem solving skills
  • Strong analog, digital and mechanical background
  • Experience in automation
  • Ability to read and understand schematic and mechanical drawing
  • Working knowledge of lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Multimeter, etc.
  • Experience with all engineering procedures
  • Excellent computer skills - CAD, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Carry out small projects independently or complete assigned tasks for major product development projects
  • Knowledge and experience in cGMP requirements
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interface with Research and Development, Quality Assurance, and Production
  • Experience with basic machine shop equipment (Mill, Lathe, Drill Press etc.)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally travel to Mexicali, Mexico
  • Need US Passport (or be eligible to obtain) for travel to Mexicali, Mexico

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements

Education:

  • Associate's degree, preferable in Electronics or related field is required. Certification in Electronics is preferred.

Compensation:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $32/hr - $43/hr plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office or lab environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Occasional travel to Mexicali, Mexico and some local travel is required, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
