Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Engineering and Construction to join our growing team! As the Manager you will report to a Senior Manager- Network Build Support, Engineering and Construction and oversee a team responsible for E2E Project Management and Network Ready Delivery for all of BSPD's off-net contracted services in support of various critical platforms and customers, such as FT3, the BSPD Fiber Build, E/W clients and Next Gen Transport solutions. In addition, this Manager will influence and support multiple NetEx Steering Committe Project Charter initiatives, such as End Targets, KPIs, Roadmap development and compliance to defined objectives of asset use, lowest cost and continual process and governance improvement. This position will require navigation through internal and external partners, driving implementation of activities for complex projects. This role requires strong business acumen, the abilities to define and implement groundbreaking ideas, to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver support and services that have a broad business impact, and desire to have an industry wide impact.

As Manager, Engineering & Construction your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a diverse workforce that drives centralized construction and network related functions
  • Leading various Engineering and Construction centralized functions - i.e., enterprise provision facility extensions, network rearrangements, first office applications, large scale deployments, etc
  • Initiatingprocess improvement and developingoperational and network improvement techniques
  • Providingtechnical system support for Engineering and Construction applications
  • Providingcritical data to drive ongoing operational and financial performance improvement,usingdata and analytics to understand the return on investment, capital optimization, and supporting service metric root cause analysis
  • Drivingthe company culture and strategies, creatingstrategies to achieve business goals such as increasing revenues, optimizing expenses, and developing a skilled, motivated, satisfied, and diverse workforce
  • Leadingby example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices, and building strong cross-functional relationships
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical work experience
  • 5+ years Telecommunication experience
  • Prior industry experience in telecom, enterprise account management, leading teams
  • Understanding of engineering, installation & maintenance, and order management in the Telecom industry
  • Microsoft Project or like applications fluidity
  • Project/program management
  • Experience with engineering work orders, installation orders, facility records, network inventory management
  • Prior industry experience in managing infrastructure service providers
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with cross functional teams
  • Process improvement and customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to motivate others and work under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate via written and through oral communication

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Master's degree in engineering or Telecommunications
  • Telecom/Cable/Internet Service Provider industry experience
