General Summary: Provide manufacturing and Industrial engineering processing and support for specified plant Manufacturing Departments while serving as a role model for the Flambeau Core Values. Essential Duties: * Own and manage Molding process and sub-process * Work closely with production team to achieve process flow requirements and meet plant goals. * Support engineering team on successful implementation of new assets and processes: create operating procedures for new equipment, develop installation/qualification procedures, and determine maintenance schedules. * Identify high priority opportunities for cost savings and provide these recommendations to management. * Review scrap trends, conduct investigations with the maintenance and production team, and recommend / implement changes. * Review data and create action plans for issues derived from the data * Create, regularly review, and/or update manufacturing procedures as needed. * Support the 'Continuous Improvement' and 5S programs. * Designs and coordinates the manufacture of fixtures, dies, and automation as assigned to support the manufacture of product. * Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of manufacturing, * Establishes production standards, as well as performs cost control and cost reduction studies. * Creates all work instructions, process flows, and cell layouts for all new and existing products assigned. * Coordinates all assembly pre-production runs such as samples of the building of sub-assemblies, and all pilot builds up to and through initial production runs. * Manages special projects as assigned and participates in meetings as required. * All other jobs assigned Education/Certification Requirements: * Applicant with a BS in plastics, ME or IE is desired. Candidates with equivalent business will be considered. PC literacy required. Experience Requirements: * Successful application of Lean/Six Sigma tools * Exposure to robotics applications or concepts, workstation layout and methods engineering. Skill Requirements: * Attention to detail and problem solving skills * Mathematical problem solving * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully work in a team environment and resolve issues quickly and efficiently * Exceptional communication skills * Time management skills. * Working knowledge of various types of manufacturing machinery and tools. * Proven problem solving abilities and critical thinking. * Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements: * May be required to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally * Must be able to climb equipment, ladders and steep stairs * Must have sufficient strength, agility and dexterity to perform all required tasks Supervision Over the Following Roles: NA Work Schedule/Attendance /Overtime/Travel Requirements: * Approximately 40 hours a week | |
