| Essential Job Duties |
Program Management Responsibilities 65%
Manage, as part of a team, a portfolio of faculty-led group programs, from development through post-program. Coordinate and administer a designated portfolio of NC State group programs (currently faculty-led programs within the Colleges of Engineering, Sciences, Design and Textiles) in collaboration with faculty and program personnel, including managing the program proposal and renewal process; assisting with program budgets in partnership with the Program Budget Specialist, and developing and maintaining program promotional materials. Manage the complete student application and acceptance process in coordination with program directors and Study Abroad Program Associate.
Serve as the lead contact for designated colleges on developing new programs. Work closely with faculty, academic advisers, and other campus partners across the university to ensure that programs align with the needs of the university, our colleges and our students. Monitor student demand for programs within their college and individual degree programs. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Group Programs and in collaboration with college liaisons, assess existing group programs and identify new program needs to ensure a balanced portfolio of programs for designated majors.
Global Responsibilities 35%
Incoming Exchange Student Coordination
The position coordinates all aspects of the incoming student exchange portfolio. Oversee the complete program application and acceptance process, including student advising, student course enrollments, application support, orientation, and programming and support once students are on campus. Utilize best practices for academic advising, student services and program management. Engage in advising practices that align with University, Study Abroad Office, and international education best practices. Advocate for students, staff, and campus community members in understanding the needs of international students and systems for international student support. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with University departments and personnel. Coordinate with
SAO leadership to resolve academic, conduct, immigration, student affairs and policy concerns. |
| Other Responsibilities |
- This position is expected to maintain the confidentiality of communications and files and protect student privacy according to federal law and institutional policies.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising a graduate assistant for incoming exchange.
- In conjunction with other Study Abroad Office staff, assist with pre-departure orientation programs for outgoing students, training for program faculty directors and personnel, and other office-wide events.
- Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Directors in developing and implementing new programs, projects, and initiatives, as needed.
- Represent NC State and the Study Abroad Office at state, regional, and national conferences, as needed. Represent NC State and the Study Abroad Office during on-site visits to international partners and for program development, as needed.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in a relevant field, or Bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Minimum two years of professional work experience in a related field.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Minimum of two years professional experience in international education, advising, student services, or relevant field
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of study abroad
- Ability to practice diplomacy, patience, professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Proven ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously from inception to completion
- Strong computing skills, including working with and learning new software; computer proficiency, particularly MS Excel and Google Suite or similar software
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and/or weekends

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience working with international students in support of student affairs, academic affairs, immigration, student affairs and policy concerns
- Experience studying, living, and/or working abroad, or engagement in other relevant intercultural context
- Previous experience working in a study abroad office and on a university campus
- Experience working with faculty
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in the development and management of study abroad programs
- Experience using Terra Dotta Software for Study Abroad
- Willingness to engage in professional development to stay abreast of best practices
- The ideal candidate would possess both a high level of professionalism and exhibit empathy and enthusiasm in interactions with others
