POSITION OVERVIEW

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Instructional Design Intern to support the organization, upkeep, and creation of learning materials for campus and home office employees. This role is ideal for a student or early career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in content management for instructional design within a fast paced, collaborative environment.

    The intern will support a project focused on gathering, cataloging, and organizing existing training content to establish a sustainable system for managing current and future learning resources.

    Key Responsibilities

    Training Content Organization Project

    • Gather and review all existing training materials from various departments and formats.
    • Assist the Instructional Design team in cataloging materials, identify duplicates or outdated content, and document gaps or needs.
    • Help develop a standardized structure and taxonomy for training materials.
    • Assist in building or improving a central repository or content management system for long term use.
    • Ensure version control, naming conventions, and tagging standards are consistently applied.

    Content Development & Instructional Support

    • Create or update training assets such as job aids, slide decks, eLearning modules, and learner support materials.
    • Apply instructional design best practices to ensure high quality, learner centered materials.

    Quality Assurance & Evaluation

    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, feedback, and data tracking.
    • Recommend improvements to enhance learner engagement and training impact.

    Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Lead Instructional Designers and other team members to support ongoing projects and organizational learning goals.
    • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and content reviews.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, Organizational Development, or a related field.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Familiarity with instructional design principles or eagerness to learn.
    • Basic experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Canva, Adobe) is a plus.
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit or work at a computer for extended periods.
    • Occasional bending, lifting, or moving materials (up to 25 lbs).
    • Ability to maintain communication in person, by phone, and electronically.
