Main Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary
The Quality Clerk supports the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) by maintaining controlled quality records, supporting document control activities, and ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and export control requirements. This position contributes directly to audit readiness and protection of controlled technical data in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, control, and retain quality records in accordance with AS9100 requirements for documented information and record retention
* Verify completeness and accuracy of inspection records, certificates of conformance (CoC), material certifications, and test reports
* Ensure full traceability of parts, materials, and documentation throughout the manufacturing and inspection lifecycle
* Enter, maintain, and validate quality data within ERP and/or electronic QMS systems to ensure data integrity
* Support Approved Supplier processes; Assist with contamination exercises as needed
* Assist with preparation and organization of quality records for internal, customer, and third-party (AS9100) audits
* Ensure compliance with customer-specific, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
* Handle proprietary, confidential, and export-controlled information in accordance with ITAR, EAR, and company policies
* Support process improvement and training activities

On-Site: This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required
* 1-3 years of experience in document control, or equivalent
* Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and traceability
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF Readers/Editors)
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation on blueprints and certifications
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 certified environment
* Familiarity with AS9100 clauses related to documented information, operational control, and performance evaluation
* Experience supporting internal, customer, or third-party audits
* Familiarity with ERP and electronic QMS systems
* Basic awareness of ITAR/EAR requirements in an aerospace or defense environment
Compliance, Product Safety & Ethics Expectations
* Adherence to AS9100, customer, regulatory, and export control requirements
* Commitment to product safety, ethical behavior, and prevention of counterfeit parts
* Active participation in maintaining audit readiness and continuous improvement
* Immediate reporting of quality or export-control concerns to management
Export Control Requirement
This position may require access to export-controlled technical data subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent upon the ability to comply with all applicable export control laws and regulations.
Physical & Work Environment
* Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments
* Ability to handle physical or electronic records and occasionally lift files or materials up to 30 lbs
* May require access to controlled manufacturing, inspection, or data-restricted areas.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $24-$26/hour.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
