Join Our Dynamic Market Transformation Team

The Market Transformation team is responsible for accelerating the development and adoption of emerging energy efficiency and electrification technologies and practices, bringing them more rapidly to scale. The Market Transformation Department is the home base for our Efficient Technology Accelerator program (etamn.org) and energy codes work. Our department works on deploying emerging technologies rapidly and working to make efficiency and low carbon solutions the new normal

CEE launched a statewide Market Transformation Program in 2023, with committed and growing funding from the State of Minnesota and its utilities. This program accelerates and rapidly scales the development and adoption of emerging energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies.

As a Channel Manager, you will be responsible for advancing new construction industry relationships to enable expedited adoption of high-performance window technology as well as growth of CEE's residential new construction services. This position provides business development support and stakeholder relationship management for the New Construction and High-Performance Windows teams.

What You'll Do

Market Transformation



  • Accelerate adoption of energy-efficient products through strategic supply-chain engagement, with a focus on residential high-performance windows (HPW).
  • Promote the value proposition of high-performance windows in the new construction market and uncover opportunities to grow the market at a faster pace.
  • Collaborate with the market transformation team to deploy strategies in the market such as product demonstrations, supply chain incentives, collaborative activities with windows manufactures and builders to make high performance windows the new normal in construction practices.


Industry Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Develop productive working partnerships within the new construction and windows market including builders (production, custom, and affordable homes), window manufacturers, installation contractors, distributors, and wholesalers.
  • Attend industry events to grow connections and opportunities for the initiative.


Training & Market Enablement



  • Support the development of resources and training curriculum for installation, program, and sales strategy in collaboration with the training team and market partners.
  • Deliver training to residential new construction builders and contractors to increase familiarity with efficient technology, understand installation best practices and sales techniques.


Strategy, Outreach & Market Intelligence



  • Develop and implement outreach strategy to achieve the highest impact with the most efficient use of funding and effort.
  • Track and understand technology research and national developments around HPW technology to assist in the development of technical best practices and local resources.
  • Gather and track market intelligence and contribute to program strategy development.


New Construction Consulting & Business Development



  • Understand CEE's new construction processes and services

    • Energy rating and certification (listed below)
    • Preliminary planning and consulting
    • Energy modeling and ACCA Manual J load calculations
    • Field work for energy rating and consulting




    • Utility rebate consulting


  • Develop business development strategy to grow the pipeline and impact of the new construction team.
  • Develop and foster relationships with existing and new trade partners.
  • Actively pursue projects and leads through market relationships.


Skills & Knowledge We're Looking For



  • 4+ years' technical experience in residential new construction, building science or energy-efficiency industry required.


  • Strong motivation to work in the energy-efficiency field


  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered.


  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills


  • Experience working in a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment to move ideas forward.


  • Proven track record of presentation delivery and meeting facilitation


Preferred Qualifications



  • Degree a related field preferred (Environmental studies, science, engineering, building science, architecture/design, etc.)


  • Certification in a related field preferred (RESNET, PHIUS, LEED, etc.)
  • Experience working with utility energy efficiency programs preferred


Compensation

Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the pay range upon hire for this position will be $83K-$93K
