The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education to teach and provide content expertise for programs in curriculum and instruction. Opportunities may be on grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia and/or online during the Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters. Graduate-level course instructors require a terminal degree (PhD; EdD) in Education specializing in curriculum and instruction or a related field. Undergraduate course instructors require a master's degree or terminal degree specializing in curriculum and instruction or a related field. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Previous PreK-12 and post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred. Your cover letter must detail your specific content area expertise and teaching experience. Additionally, please note your availability to teach in-person, online, and/or hybrid modalities. These available at-will positions for teaching a single course do not carry benefits. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will require an Education Verification. The department will not sponsor visas for this position.
