Join our Chromalloy team as a Facilities and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor for our Engineering Center of Excellence facility. In this role, you will ensure that our facilities, equipment, and critical systems operate safely, reliability, and in full compliance with aerospace, regulatory, and environmental standards. You will also oversee all aspects of EHS requirements, training and coaching site team members and driving the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance employee safe behaviors and eliminate hazards/unsafe conditions.
The Facilities and EHS Supervisor reports to the Site Lead / Engineering Sr. Director, has one direct report, and works closely with the corporate Facilities and EHS teams. This is an on-site role, with core operating hours Monday-Friday and the flexibility to respond off-shift as required.
Responsibilities:
Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state and local EHS legal and regulatory requirements, as well as any company-specific standards that surpass regulatory mandates.
- Ensure regular job hazards assessments, EHS assessments and inspections are completed and develop solutions to minimize risk(s).
- Manage the site's EHS training program, including the development of training materials and facilitation of training necessary to ensure facility compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure regulatory agency inspections, inquiries, contacts, reporting, and recordkeeping are in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the building's emergency detection, alarm and protection measures, including the fire prevention system, backup generator and lighting systems, and physical site security systems.
- Follow and maintain site physical security systems and practices.
- Lead emergency response and business continuity preparation, including management of emergency action plans, monitoring severe weather risks, and completing necessary training and drills.
- Update and maintain site's EHS management system (policies, procedures) and utilize the corporate EHS data management system (VelocityEHS).
- Support Corporate EHS initiatives, including EHS metrics reporting and process improvements.
- Plan, schedule, and complete or assign preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Develop, review, and approve work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment histories.
- Track spare parts inventory and recommend stocking levels.
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water systems, and emergency power.
- Develop scopes of work, and manage contractors and for specialist repairs, inspections, and routine contracts (janitorial, landscaping, etc.).
- Develop business justifications and manage capital projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and EHS improvements.
- Enforce adherence safety requirements in all tasks and projects (lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, personal protective equipment, hazardous waste, chemical management, etc.).
- Support site production and research activities by minimizing equipment downtime and responding rapidly to critical issues.
- Serve as primary point of contact to the corporate risk management team, support loss prevention insurance inspections and resolution of recommendations, and coordinate with landlord as related to Facilities and EHS repairs and improvements.
- Supervise, train and evaluate one direct report (maintenance technician).
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives, including driving Facilities and EHS corrective actions to closure.
- Communicate the progress and trends towards achieving excellence in facility management and EHS compliance.
- May be called to support facilities project management and EHS training for nearby warehouse facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
- May be called to support site shipping and receiving activities as a back-up resource.
- Complete and maintain all training required to successfully execute the role.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; advanced degree, technical degree or trade certification preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance and safety/EHS experience related to manufacturing or laboratory/research and development operations.
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Project management, contractor management, and development/delivery of training experience.
- Ability to review regulations, policies, and technical manuals to extract and apply requirements to site operations.
- Grasp of computer based tools for facilities and EHS management.
- Motivated and demonstrate strong follow through and accountability, with a proactive sense of urgency to problem solving.
- Must be able to work full time at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL facility, with up to 1 day/week support and travel to Fort Lauderdale, FL, as well as on-call support as required.
