Job Title: Procurement / Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Rosemead, CA 91770 (Onsite Monday & Tuesday)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Type: Long term Contract

Pay Range: $37/hr. - $39/hr.

Position Summary

The Procurement / Supply Chain Specialist supports purchasing and sourcing operations by driving innovation, enhancing supplier management systems, and improving overall procurement performance. This role assists in executing sourcing strategies to meet short- and long-term material needs while ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and optimal cost efficiency.

The position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of procurement practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing Support

• Assist in executing purchasing and sourcing strategies to meet organizational performance metrics for cost, quality, and delivery.
• Support the negotiation of moderately complex purchase orders, change orders, RFPs, and contracts/agreements to achieve best value and favorable commercial terms.
• Participate in supplier engagement activities and structured negotiation planning.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

• Help identify critical suppliers and develop engagement plans to proactively manage supply chain risks.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal customers to serve as a trusted business partner.
• Understand supplier objectives, leverage points, and negotiation strategies to drive optimal outcomes.
• Support training of peers and stakeholders on procurement processes and best practices.

Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Assist in analyzing procurement risks, identifying gaps, and supporting resolution strategies.
• Contribute to innovation efforts and continuous improvement of supplier management systems and procurement processes.
• Support multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing effectively and making informed decisions regarding scope, impact, and implementation.

Compliance & Asset Protection

• Ensure adherence to company policies, purchasing standards, utility regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Protect physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity when handling private customer data, proprietary information, and other sensitive materials.
• Follow company safety protocols and safe work practices.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management.
• Working knowledge of purchasing practices, policies, procurement contracts, and standard terms and conditions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal correspondence and negotiation support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP in a purchasing environment.
• Experience with Ariba Sourcing, Contracting, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) modules.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, standards, utility regulations, and compliance requirements related to purchasing.
• Experience preparing and supporting negotiations and contractual documentation.
• Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CPCM, CCCM, and/or PMP.

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with required onsite presence Monday and Tuesday.
• Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
