Please note that this position is a per diem appointment UCSD Department of Radiology is one of the most innovative and productive academic departments in the country, offering challenging career opportunities in the diverse areas of advanced educational programs, cutting-edge research, and state-of-the-art services for clinical and translational studies. Working under direct supervision, incumbent performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic and research purposes in accordance with established guidelines and MRI protocols. Requires advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and magnetic resonance imaging. Acts as an MRI subject matter expert and assists other technicians as needed. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of MRI safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist. Administers contrast media per protocol. Educates patient, collects patient history, communicates patient information to the Radiologist, and prepares patient for procedure. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies, and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Troubleshoots and resolves MRI-related PACS issues. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $149,522 - $149,522 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $71.61 - $71.61 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
