Pharmacy Technician II - E. 53rd Street

Exciting opportunity at MSK: We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Pharmacy Technician for the Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion on E. 53rd Street.

• Perform inventory management (ordering, receiving, restocking).

• Demonstrate proficiency with appropriate pharmacy equipment, systems, and technology.

• Compound medications, including chemotherapy in a cleanroom.

• Assist with pharmacy inspections.

• Adhere to State and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.

• Make occasional deliveries to chemo units.

• Perform any other pharmacy operational task needed for patient care.

• Complete annual competency assessments.

• Maintain pharmacy files and records in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

• HS Diploma/GED with 2+ years of clinic/hospital experience preferred.

• PTCB or NHA Technician Certification (CPhT) required. NYS Pharmacy Technician License with current registration

• Although prior chemotherapy experience is not required, having strong IV compounding skills is beneficial.

• Someone who readily takes on challenges without unnecessary planning.

• Able to handle and manage crises effectively.

• Known to deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.

• Able to follow through on commitments and act with a clear sense of ownership.

• Resourceful and make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information.

• Able to work well with others and is flexible to a variety of responsibilities.

• Schedule: 8-hour variable shifts, with start times as early as 6 AM and ending as late as 8 PM, Monday-Friday, subject to change due to business needs.

• Reports to: Pharmacy Manager
