About the Position The Finance Supervisor oversees all travel and procurement operations while providing accounting and financial leadership to the Travel & Procurement team. This role is responsible for executing advanced-level financial functions with professionalism, discretion, and sound independent judgment. We Require
- Three years of experience in a professional-level finance role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field
- Related postgraduate degrees or professional-level-related experience may substitute for education or experience on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
- Must have the ability to obtain CAPA certification within three months of hire
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs
- Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement

Job Contributions
- Provide supervisory and managerial oversight for the Travel & Procurement Supervisor and indirect oversight of travel and procurement specialists, including hiring decisions, staff development, and performance management
- Lead complex departmental procurement projects, including developing the scope of work, directing solicitation processes, overseeing task orders, evaluating vendor proposals, and ensuring contracts and agreements align with agency rules and policies
- Serve as primary oversight authority for all agency contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with MCAO and Maricopa County policies and collaborating with agency stakeholders to resolve complex procurement and contract issues
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of departmental accounting, finance, travel, and procurement processes
- Coordinate advanced financial analysis of travel and procurement operations, including forecasting, cost benefit analysis and cost projections, and prepare and present clear financial reports and recommendations to inform MCAO leadership decisions
- Evaluate travel, procurement and contract management functions by conducting audits, reviewing workflow performance, identifying gaps and recommending improvements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency
- Work closely with MCAO IT leadership to support technology-related procurement and ensure hardware and software needs are met, plan for future technology acquisitions and lead intra-agency initiatives related to travel, procurement, budget development and financial reporting
- Liaise between MCAO and the County Office of Procurement Services, as well as other external agencies and institutions; professionally represent the Division and the Department in both internal and external meetings
- Work collaboratively with departmental management on strategic planning and the development, submission and management of the annual departmental budget
- Serve as P-card administrator for MCAO; acquire and maintain the appropriate Purchase Card (P-Card) authorities; conduct audits on the use of Department P-Cards

- Requires extended periods of sitting while completing computer activities
- May be required to drive a personal or County-owned vehicle to travel to and from various County locations
- Eligible for telework after 6 months of employment
