"I Can Succeed as a Product Strategy Summer Associate"

Product Strategy at Capital Group is a team that designs, evaluates, prioritizes, and launches new investment products and strategies. As a Summer Associate, you'll support product roadmaps through quantitative and qualitative research, build market and competitor insights, contribute to product plans and launch materials.

As a Product Strategy Summer Associate, you will perform one or more of the following tasks:

  • Conduct industry scans, competitor analysis, and asset/sales flow reviews to inform long-term product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Develop insights into markets, investor needs, and distribution channels to shape new product ideas and bespoke client solutions.
  • Assist Product Leads/Specialists with product plans, business cases, demand assessments, and internal analyses.
  • Contribute to launch plans and support initiatives across product lines (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs)
  • Help form and oversee separate accounts to meet client objectives (in partnership with internal stakeholders).
  • Ensure all communications comply with industry regulations and firm standards.

  • You are a current student pursuing a master's degree with an anticipated Spring 2027 graduation date and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • You are a self-starter who proactively originates ideas and drives initiatives with limited oversight.
  • You are proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and complex charts), and are ideally familiar with data analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI, as well as basic coding in SQL or Python.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • You are analytical, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • You are team-oriented, with solid project management skills, able to prioritize and deliver multiple workstreams on time in a dynamic environment.
  • You are resourceful and exercise sound judgment-able to interpret requests accurately, ask thoughtful questions, seek guidance, and escalate when appropriate.
  • You are a self-starter who proactively originates ideas, drives initiatives, and embraces ambiguity and change.
  • You are exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced setting.
  • You are intellectually curious, eager to learn about emerging technologies (such as AI, machine learning, and digital platforms) and their impact on financial products.
  • You are committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative team environment and value diverse perspectives.
  • You are customer-focused, with a passion for understanding investor needs and delivering innovative solutions.

Southern California Base Hourly Rate: $40/ hour

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
