Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Soccer Coach to support the development, training, and performance of the Mizzou Soccer program. Reporting to the Head Soccer Coach, this position will play a key role in goalkeeper coaching, goalkeeper development, recruiting, and other areas assigned by the head coach. The assistant coach will work closely with student-athletes, other coaches, athletic staff, and support personnel to enhance team success and ensure compliance with NCAA and SEC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coaching and Player Development (40%)

* Create and implement Goalkeeper Training and Development Plans.
* Organize and conduct goalkeeper sessions to ensure a high level of technical, tactical, physical, and psychological skills.
* Evaluate goalkeeper performance in practice and competition and provide individualized feedback.
* Mentor goalkeepers to support athletic growth, leadership development, and overall well-being.

2. Recruiting and Talent Evaluation (25%)

* Assist in the development and execution of the program's recruiting strategy.
* Conduct off-campus recruiting, evaluation, and relationship building with prospective student-athletes.
* Analyze statistical, video, and performance data of recruits to support decision-making.
* Ensure recruiting activities comply with NCAA, SEC, and University regulations.

3. Game Planning and Strategy (20%)

* Collect, analyze, and interpret tactical and statistical data on opponents.
* Assist in the creation of scouting reports and game plans.
* Contribute to in-game strategy, adjustments, and post-game analysis.
* Support contest scheduling and competitive planning as assigned.

4. Administrative Support and Collaboration (10%)

* Promote and uphold the philosophy and objectives of the University of Missouri Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
* Ensure strict adherence to all NCAA, SEC, University, and departmental policies and procedures.
* Assist with administrative tasks related to team operations, travel, and scheduling.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

5. Other Duties (5%)

* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics administration.
* Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in College Soccer Coaching is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary is commensurate on education and experience.
