Job Description




As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol - Flex in Waldorf, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support store teams with customer service, clear communication, and incident reporting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, associates, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances and exits, receiving areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior, potential hazards, and/or unauthorized access; document observations and incidents in daily activity reports and/or incident reports per Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Support loss prevention and operational teams by observing and reporting theft indicators, policy noncompliance, and/or disturbances, and by providing a visible presence during peak shopping hours.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
