ABOUT THE JOB:
The Sr. Demand & Supply Planning Manager owns a forward-looking supply and demand balance of the company-wide assets. This role ensures the right assets-by type, configuration, grade, and condition-are available in the right markets at the right time and cost. Acting as the supply chain orchestrator, this role integrates demand forecasting, portfolio strategy, market behavior, lifecycle decisioning, real estate constraints, and end-to-end asset strategies to maximize utilization, profitability, and service reliability. The Core Mission would be to translate forecasted demand into actionable asset supply decisions while minimizing cost and risk.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Demand Planning & Forecast Ownership
- Own national asset demand forecasts (short-, mid-, and long-term).
- Convert orders, historical trends, market behavior, and seasonality into asset requirements.
- Identify demand gaps, oversupply risks, and asset imbalances by market and class.
- Define planning assumptions for peak readiness and off-peak drawdown.
Asset Supply & Portfolio Planning
- Act as the supply planner.
- Determine how assets should navigate through their lifecycle.
- Optimize inventory targets by market, product type, grade, and age profile.
- Balance supply constraints with demand needs.
Lifecycle Strategy (Demand-Driven)
- Shift lifecycle decisions toward demand- and economics-based triggers.
- Define when to lifecycle asset terms.
- Use NPV, utilization curves, and cost-to-serve modeling to guide lifecycle decisions.
Disposition & Resale Planning
- Own exit planning as part of supply balancing-not reactive disposal.
- Build disposition plans aligned to demand outlook and portfolio optimization.
- Partner with resale channels to maximize recovery value.
- Ensure timing of disposals supports market demand and real estate exit planning.
Real Estate & Yard Capacity Integration
- Integrate Real Estate capacity and land cost constraints into supply and demand planning.
- Work with Real Estate and Operations to reduce inventory ahead of strategies.
- Use demand outlooks to right-size inventory in high-cost or constrained real estate.
Cross-Functional Supply Chain Leadership
- Serve as primary link between Operations, Compliance, Analytics, Sales, Supply Chain, and Real Estate.
- Communicate demand signals and capacity requirements to execution teams.
- Lead scenario modeling and supply risk assessments.
Portfolio Governance & Decision Frameworks
- Establish cross-functional governance for asset lifecycle decisions.
- Manage monthly and quarterly supply reviews with leadership.
- Deliver clear recommendations backed by forecasting, analytics, and financial modeling.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years in supply chain planning, demand planning, asset portfolio management, or related fields.
- Strong background in forecasting, capacity planning, and scenario modeling.
- Experience with inventory optimization or asset lifecycle management preferred.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and cross-functional leadership skills.
