Position Overview

The Procurement Manager leads the execution and performance of our purchasing and expediting functions to ensure reliable supply, strong supplier partnerships, and operational excellence. This role oversees category management, supplier performance, and expediting teams while driving continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, and supplier capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines operational discipline with strategic thinking, using data, collaboration, and leadership to strengthen supplier performance and support company growth.


What You'll Do
Procurement & Purchasing Leadership


  • Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure alignment with procurement strategy, inventory targets, and service-level expectations.



  • Lead category managers in developing and executing category strategies aligned with business objectives and customer demand.



  • Ensure purchase order accuracy, confirmations, and alignment with demand forecasts and system planning parameters.



  • Monitor and improve procurement cycle times, order fulfillment accuracy, and system compliance.



  • Partner closely with replenishment teams to maintain appropriate stocking levels and optimize working capital.




Supplier Performance Management


  • Maintain and monitor supplier scorecards using KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality performance, lead time adherence, fill rate, and responsiveness.



  • Support supplier onboarding, reviews, and performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with sourcing and quality teams.



  • Ensure supplier compliance with company programs, freight terms, pricing standards, data requirements, and return policies.



  • Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with underperforming suppliers.



  • Support safety, regulatory, and quality compliance standards.




Expediting Oversight


  • Lead the expediting function to ensure open purchase orders are actively managed and aligned with customer commitments.



  • Establish clear workflows, roles, KPIs, and escalation paths between buyers and expeditors.



  • Proactively identify supply, logistics, and schedule risks.



  • Serve as the escalation point for critical supplier delivery issues impacting operations or customer service.




Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration


  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for procurement and expediting team members.



  • Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline inbound freight and improve service levels.



  • Collaborate with data and systems teams to maintain accurate pricing, lead times, and cost data within ERP systems.



  • Work with planning and replenishment to balance service levels, inventory investment, and excess/obsolete reduction initiatives.




Data & Process Optimization


  • Use data analytics to monitor supplier performance, compliance, and cost trends.



  • Improve tools and systems to increase visibility, scalability, and automation within procurement processes.



  • Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities while supporting operational excellence and supplier diversity goals.



Qualifications

Required


  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or supplier performance leadership.



  • Strong understanding of purchasing operations, compliance systems, and performance measurement frameworks.



  • Proven ability to analyze data and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives.



  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving accountability.




Preferred


  • Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or MRO environments.



  • Proficiency with ERP systems and business intelligence tools.



  • Familiarity with ISO and AS quality standards.
