Responsibilities

We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as Senior Director of Business Development for our Citizen Security and Public Services Sector. This person will lead a team of business development efforts that will expand our footprint within the Civilian, Financial and Regulatory, National Security, Public Safety and State and Local markets. This individual will be responsible for executing disruptive initiatives, cultivating strategic relationships, and delivering unmatched value to our government and industry partners.

The successful candidate is responsible for leading a team of business development professionals in the identification, development, qualification, and capture of new opportunities as well as supporting on-going business re-competes. The Senior Director of Business Development will not only lead and develop a team of BD professionals but also meet customers and partners and actively participate in key captures and proposals.

This position will be based in Reston, Virginia with the expectation that the successful candidate will travel to customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

    Lead and execute business development and growth strategies to expand Peraton's market share across CS&PS accounts, with direct responsibility for pipeline development and opportunity advancement.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of business development professionals, ensuring disciplined execution of growth processes and consistent progress toward pipeline and booking goals.
  • Drive innovation in business development by identifying emerging customer needs, introducing differentiated solutions and offerings, and applying creative approaches to position Peraton competitively within the government technology market.
  • Build and maintain strong, working relationships with government customers, industry partners, and key stakeholders to support opportunity identification, customer engagement, and capture success.
  • Partner closely with Sector leadership and functional teams (Contracts, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.) to support pipeline growth and provide hands-on leadership for complex capture activities and major pursuits.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of customer missions, competitive dynamics, and market trends, using insights to inform opportunity qualification, win strategies, and customer value propositions.
  • Develop and manage business development strategies and execution plans that generate a healthy, qualified pipeline across Federal Civilian and State & Local markets, including successful leadership of large-scale pursuits ($250M+).
  • Lead core business development lifecycle activities-including opportunity identification, qualification, capture planning, and proposal support-by defining win themes, shaping teaming strategies, and articulating competitive discriminators.
  • Promote accountability and execution discipline across the business development organization to ensure measurable progress against growth objectives.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 18+ years of experience with at least three plus years as a manager of staff.
  • 10+ years of experience working within the Civilian, Financial and Regulatory, National Security, Public Safety and State and Local markets
  • Proven experience in supporting business development with a successful track record of winning single award deals.
  • Deep and current understanding of customer's activities and needs to leverage Peraton strengths and core values.
  • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism, and commitment
  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Secret security clearance obtainable

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
