Public Works Supervisor
Responsibilities **This position is located in St. George, LA** The Public Works Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, directing, and overseeing the daily activities of personnel, field crews, and contractors in the maintenance and repair of public utilities and infrastructure, including but not limited to streets, drainage systems, stormwater systems, traffic signs and markings, vegetation control, and other right-of-way maintenance. This position provides direct supervision to Public Works staff, ensures compliance with City standards and regulatory requirements, and serves as operational support to the Public Works Director. The Supervisor exercises independent judgment in scheduling work, allocating resources, resolving field issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable specifications. The Public Works Supervisor serves as acting designee in the absence of the Public Works Director when assigned. Leadership & Supervision

Personal Qualities
Physical Demands Must be available for regular standby assignments and emergency work. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and with exposure to traffic and potentially hazardous conditions. In the event of a major weather event, this employee will be required to report to work, even if the weather event is in the evenings and/or weekends or on a holiday. This position comes with a company vehicle, which is to be used for business purposes only. Ability to lift 20 pounds.
