Job Summary The Team Leader has supervisory responsibility for a specific business unit within the plant. This position must exercise effective personal leadership and communications skills to create a positive work environment which will ensure accomplishment of plant objectives and develop a spirit of cooperation and team building throughout the plant. The Team Leader must be familiar with safety and EPA regulations to ensure compliance within their respective area of responsibility.Job Description JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lead and direct manufacturing initiatives for area of responsibility; familiarize oneself with all processes in assigned area & provide basic direction and training to area personnel. Must be able to add stability and oversight into process issues, production scheduling and procedural issues. Implement actions and projects necessary to achieve Labor Productivity objective. Continually improve individual productivity for employees in areas of responsibility. Develop a training program to improve abilities and skills of direct reports to include cross-training for all job functions. Ensure that production schedule objectives are met through support of PSS order process and past due resolution actions consistent with the plant lean objectives. Execute alternate process capability to ensure schedules can be maintained when critical path equipment is compromised. Support plant Performance Excellence objectives by playing a key contributing role in projects, Kaizens, and training events within areas of responsibilities; utilize OEE to improve department performance. Maintain strong presence and involvement with personnel in areas of responsibility. Control scrap by keeping below budgeted targets. Ensure that personnel follow proper quality procedures. Manage department to meet/exceed quality metrics. Ensure that personnel adhere to proper safety protocol. Eliminate potential safety risks through training personnel, engagement and direct reports with safe work practices. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE: Experience in manufacturing Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
