Position Summary: The Field Operations Manager leads and supports Site Superintendents and field teams across multiple construction projects to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality project execution. This role plays a key part in creating an environment where field professionals can do their best work, grow their capabilities, and feel supported while delivering successful outcomes for clients. As a people-focused construction leader, the Field Operations Manager balances operational oversight with hands on leadership. This role ensures Superintendents are set up for success through clear expectations, thoughtful staffing, practical coaching, and consistent standards. By strengthening field leadership and reinforcing accountability, the Field Operations Manager helps make Henderson Building Solutions a place where people thrive and projects succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to assign Superintendents based on experience, project needs, and workload
- Support Superintendents in managing jobsite challenges, labor considerations, quality issues, and client concerns
- Provide guidance and escalation support when projects require additional leadership attention.
- Promote consistency in how jobsites are managed while respecting unique project needs. Reinforce safety as a core value and shared responsibility across all jobsites
- Partner with Safety leadership to support training, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Review safety and quality trends across projects and address risks early with field leaders
- Ensure OSHA, Client and Henderson safety standards are consistently understood and applied in the field Support Superintendents in delivering a strong, professional client experience on jobsites
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project discussions as needed.
- Represent Henderson Building Solutions with credibility and professionalism in the field.
- Support business development efforts by reinforcing reliable field execution and strong client relationships. Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Site Superintendents across assigned projects
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and professionalism in the field
- Support Superintendents as they take on larger or more complex projects
- Promote and lead operational excellence through innovation and efficiencies that support Henderson's value proposition and mitigate risk across all projects.
- Support regional growth initiatives, managing staffing requirements, onboarding and training, QA/QC, and HBS safety and policy and procedure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field, or relevant trade school experience with 10 or more years of relevant construction field experience, including site supervision, or 12 or more years without a relevant bachelor's degree.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and construction management software (e.g., ProCore).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, installation methods, and field supervision.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described in and characterized in this job description. Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to work regularly on active construction sites and in outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to move, traverse, and position self within jobsite environments for extended periods.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders, work at heights, and access elevated or confined areas.
- Ability to position self to bend, stoop, kneel, and maintain balance while during jobsite activities.
- Ability to move, transport, install, and remove materials and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Ability to work varying schedules, including nights or weekends.
- Routine travel to local and regional project sites.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
