SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has full product marketing responsibilities and ownership of assigned current product lines. This position will develop, implement, and drive marketing strategies and plans; conduct market research and competitive product analysis activities; own go-to-market strategies; and drive the commercialization and profit and loss of new products. This position is also responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
1.Lead and manage all product life cycle activities for assigned product lines to ensure collaboration, information sharing, and accuracy between Business Segments, Manufacturing, Research and Development, and other key stakeholders.
2.Create and maintain product roadmap and marketing plan based on a comprehensive understanding of the market, competitive landscape, product positioning, promotion of growth and value to customers, and support of sales and distribution partners to meet market needs and business goals.
3.Perform market mapping, SWOT, and risk analysis to continually update impacted areas of vision and strategy.
4.Gather, analyze, and apply customer and market feedback to prioritize features, defined product requirements, and other voice of customer information.
5.Use market research that provides insights into current and future opportunities with the product portfolio, revenue trends, and customer insight to influence product direction.
6.Drive alignment efforts across functions like Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Operations to ensure product success.
7.Maintain product portfolio metrics for product growth, meeting forecast expectations, alignment of demand with manufacturing, and overall performance goals.
8.Collaborate with market partners, Business Segments, Sales, and R&D to identify opportunities to enhance current products and/or identify products for portfolio expansion.
9.Partner with Marketing Communications to build and/or maintain a library of collateral tools that support sales and promotional efforts.
10.Provide continual training of products to sales and distribution partners that includes market dynamics, value strategies and pricing, enhanced messaging, and promotional campaigns.
11.Lead generation and product awareness programs that promote both growth and increased market share.
12.Develop a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) program for your product portfolio.
13.Participate in customer meetings, tradeshows, and interviews to validate product direction and enhance relationships with industry partners.
14.Perform duties as assigned by management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelor's degree in life science, marketing, or related field with marketing focus on product management.
*MBA is favorable for this position.
*Minimum of three to five years of product marketing experience
*Understanding of recent developments in science and technology in the diagnostics arena.
*Marketing experience in clinical laboratory sciences preferred.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
*Experience with conducting market research to assess needs of the target market to aid in conceptualization of new products.
*Exceptional critical thinking skills to understand market needs and develop customer-based strategies and collateral to maintain and grow market share.
*Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and solicit appropriate opinions. Ability to objectively prioritize internal and external feedback and expedite corrective actions to achieve project goals.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL DEMANDS:
The worker is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work environment). Travel demands for this position are estimated up to 25%. If travel is required, this travel may include customer visits, events/trade shows, and completion of presentations primarily throughout Domestic US or International regions. Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding "safe travel" according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.
