| Job Description |
The Motor Pool Section Chief is responsible for guiding and maintaining a team of drivers and equipment to support the transportation of cargo, equipment and personnel. The activities associated with this responsibility include but not limited to, coordinating activities and resources to support customer request, ensuring compliance with all aspects of vehicle and driver requirements, and communicating with respective parties to ensure an efficient and effective operation. Other duties associated with section operation may include generating reports, developing schedules, mentoring and training, utilizing systems (like GCSS ARMY), supporting and overseeing routine safety inspections, and performing minor repairs to keep vehicles in good working order. A need to directly support section work may be required based on workload or resource availability. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. *Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and maintain for the duration of employment, without special restrictions. *Must have HAZMAT, Tanker, and Passenger endorsement. *Must have National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Core and Fixed Cab Crane Certifications and current CCO Rigger and Signalperson certifications. *Must have five (5) years' experience at YPG assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material, OR seven (7) years' experience assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material. *Must have five (5) years' experience at YPG with set-up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches, OR seven (7) years' experience with set-up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches. *Must have demonstrated experience in handling/coordinating schedules for work force coverage. *Must have the ability to mediate disputes and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and problem-solving strategies.
Job Skills Requirements: *Professional and effective oral and written communication skills to interact with staff, management, and other departments. *Ability to lead, delegate, and motivate a team. *Must have knowledge of principles and practices of automotive and mechanical preventive maintenance. *Proficient in computer skills, including software for managing maintenance and records. *Must have strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and the public. *Must have ability to analyze situations and make reasonable and quick decisions. *Must have extensive and proficient knowledge and understanding of equipment-operating characteristics, capabilities, and limitations and one whose competence in this skill has been demonstrated through training and experience. *Must demonstrate the ability to train junior drivers to conduct basic operator-level maintenance, such as checking tire pressure, inspect brake systems, and servicing vehicle lights. *Proficient with managing accurate records of driver mileage and trip tickets. *Extensive knowledge of relevant safety standards, hazardous materials, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and state and federal transportation rules. *Proficiency with computers, office management software, and the ability to read technical manuals and vehicle/equipment specifications.
Physical Requirements:
*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, DOT physical and periodic retests. *Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned. *Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. *Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for the Maintenance Division. *Must be capable of climbing up and into large vehicles up to 10 feet high. *Must be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted. *Must be capable of kneeling, bending and standing while performing rigging duties.

*Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English. *Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude. *Must be willing to cross-train in other areas. *Must use "down-time" effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company. *Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability. *Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions. *Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy. *Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs. *Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies. *Must be able to work, day or night shifts as necessary to meet specific test missions. *Must be able to travel. *Must have a clean driving record. *Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions. *Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment. *Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
