Union Operating Engineer - Local 94

On-site: New York, NY

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Union Operating Engineer to join our client's Class-A office facility in New York, where you will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems while maintaining a safe, clean work environment and performing comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with Local Union 94 in a premier commercial real estate setting.

Schedule: Thursday - Monday 4 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Pay $46.12 hourly

Check out some of your day:

  • Safety and Cleanliness:Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company policies and standards.Ensure all safety procedures are followed and report any hazards immediately.
  • Routine Assessments and Rounds:Conduct regular assessments and rounds of all building systems to ensure optimal performance.Identify potential issues and proactively implement solutions.
  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building equipment and systems.Ensure timely and accurate completion of all maintenance tasks to prevent system downtime.
  • Painting and Housekeeping:Perform minor painting tasks and assist with general housekeeping to maintain facility aesthetics and functionality.
  • Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Chilled Water Equipment:Monitor and maintain air conditioning, refrigeration, and chilled water equipment.Diagnose and repair any issues to ensure efficient operation.
  • Hot Water Systems Maintenance:Maintain and repair hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters to ensure consistent water supply.
  • Tenant Services:Respond to and perform services for tenants as requested in a timely and professional manner.
  • System Installation Troubleshooting:Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with new system installations to ensure proper operation and integration.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure systems are operated and maintained in compliance with local, state, county, or federal codes.Maintain necessary documentation and records for compliance purposes.

Who are we looking for?

  • 3+ years of operating/building engineering experience in a commercial setting

  • Must possess the following certifications: S12, S13, A35, and P98

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to handle physical tasks and operate various tools and equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require working outdoors, in confined spaces, and at heights.

  • Availability for on-call or after-hours service requests may be required.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

95,929.00 - 95,929.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
