Job Description

Reliability Services is seeking an Apprentice Field Service Technician to support hands-on service projects across industrial and refinery environments. This role is perfect for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working in the field, solving problems, and contributing to a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.


You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality reliability solutions that improve equipment performance, safety, and uptime for our customers.

Key Responsibilities




  • Perform maintenance on rotating equipment, lubrication systems, filters, and oil mist systems



  • Operate oil transfer pumps, filtration equipment, and service tools



  • Collect diagnostic data, including lubricant and vibration samples



  • Conduct visual inspections and assist with repair of piping, hoses, and equipment



  • Read and follow P&IDs and understand process flow in refineries and industrial plants



  • Record gauge readings, LCD values, and job documentation accurately and timely



  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment on-site



  • Route piping and flushing hoses, bend tubing as directed



  • Follow all safety requirements including PPE, JHA/JSA, lockout/tagout, and work permitting



  • Participate in daily safety meetings and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives



  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers




Additional responsibilities for Clarus Technicians:




  • Support naval vessel operations and record scheduled gauge and log readings




Qualifications




  • 6 months experience working with pumps, valves, rotating equipment, or as a field technician preferred



  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools and service equipment



  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to travel up to 75% (domestic and international)



  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record (CDL preferred)



  • Ability to safely operate trucks and trailers



  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office



  • High school diploma or GED required



  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain a U.S. passport



  • Ability to pass background checks and periodic drug screenings, including hair follicle tests



  • Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs., climb, and work at heights up to 30 ft

  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods



  • Clear verbal communication with customers and team members



  • Work environment includes moderate to high noise levels
