Job Overview

The Analytics Platform Manager leads the development, operations, and strategic advancement of the Komatsu Mining Analytics Platform (KMAP). This role oversees the cloud, edge, DevOps, and application development functions necessary to deliver a secure, scalable, and innovative analytics platform used across Komatsu's global mining business. The Manager directly leads teams responsible for KMAP DevOps and KMAP Application Development and drives platform governance, architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology strategy.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Defines and guides the longterm strategic roadmap for KMAP, ensuring alignment with Komatsu's Mining's cloud digital and data strategy.
  • Identifies emerging technologies, industry trends, and valuecreation opportunities to advance Komatsu's competitive position.
  • Partners with global engineering, IT, product management, cybersecurity, and business leaders to unify analytics priorities across the company.
  • Define and execute the technical strategy for the Komatsu cloud analytics program in alignment with the Platforms & Security organization.
  • Directly leads the KMAP DevOps and KMAP Application Development teams, cultivating a highperformance engineering culture rooted in ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drives organizational clarity by setting priorities, aligning capacity with business demand, and ensuring the team is structured and skilled for future growth.
  • Coaches emerging leaders and technical experts, investing in talent development, capability maturity, and longterm workforce planning. Collaborate to define and execute the technical strategy for the Komatsu cloud big data and analytics program, supporting the Global Mining Business division.
  • Lead strategic projects targeting business growth in the areas of big data, cloud and edge analytics, datasharing and ML/AI.
  • Lead Komatsu big data strategy development and the feature backlog for the global cloud analytics platformto meet evolving business priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership for the development and integration of Komatsu family IoT and analyticssolutions across organizations (KLTD, Komatsu Surface Mining, Komatsu Mining Technology Solutions, KGM, and global Komatsu Distributors).
  • Define and improve development and support practices that ensure robustness and supportability of solutions, with an emphasis on cybersecurity and global platform governance.
  • Own the Data Solutions and Investment for Growth project cost centers ensuring ongoing platform development and operations are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Recruit and develop cohesive teams, with the support of front-line leadership, to deliver innovative capabilities and meet the evolving technology and cybersecurity challenges of Komatsu. Define and deliver on initiativesto enhance team engagement and job satisfaction.
  • Evangelize for Komatsu Big Data and Analytics solutions within the company and the mining industry.
  • Owns the management of Azure subscriptions for Data Solutions and Investment for Growth Projects.
  • Ensures that KMAP delivers high reliability, performance, observability, and supportability across global operations.
  • Oversees triage and resolution of production issues, capacity planning, incident prevention, and continuous monitoring improvements.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in data systems architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms, or analytics engineering.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • Skills in cloud computing (Azure), Linux/Windows environments, web technologies, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and crossfunctional collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading teams in an Agile environment, delivering cloud technology solutions.
  • Building and maintaining business relationships with development teams in Milwaukee, Tucson, Vancouver. Technical conferences. Most commondestinations: US, Chile, Peru, Canada, Australia, China, UK, South Africa.
  • Percentage of Travel: Up to25%

Desired Skills

  • Experience with timeseries and highvolume nontransactional data systems.
  • Knowledge of edge computing, embedded systems, cybersecurity, and IoT connectivity.
  • Leadership experience in CI/CD automation, observability tooling, and scalable cloud architectures.
