Description

Summary: Plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in production on a seasonal or annual basis by performing the following duties:

Note: Production Foreperson I residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises one or more departments within a facility.
  • Ensures proper training for all crew assigned.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of equipment and devices used for production within a department.
  • Proficient in operation of equipment and devices used within a department.
  • Ability to train crews in operations of equipment and devices used within a department.
  • Coordinates with leads to facilitate daily or weekly safety talks.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements.
  • Applies work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • Teams with FSQA for guidance and compliance.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • May operate Crane, Forklift, and other equipment with applicable training and operator's license.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

  • regularly up to 10 pounds
  • frequently up to 25 pounds
  • occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
