Summary: The Warehouse Foreperson II directs and coordinates warehouse activities of warehouse workers who receive, stores, and distributes material and products from the dry warehouse.

Note: Warehouse Foreperson II residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least eight hours of work is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials
  • Works with the purchasing group to ensure timely receipt of goods and facilitate production schedules
  • Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling of disposition of merchandise and keeping of warehouse inventory
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions
  • Directs reclamation or destruction of damaged merchandise
  • Coordinates the layout and storage practices in the warehouse to stay in regulatory and BRC compliance
  • Reviews bills for incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before
  • Minimum of five years' experience in warehouse/distribution center including experience with direct supervision of employees
  • Knowledge of Interstate Shipping Regulations, Food Safety, and Audit procedures
  • Forklift certified or able to become forklift certified and able to qualify for lift truck certification within two weeks of start date

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of warehouse systems. SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Intermediate experience using MS Office, specifically, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
