Overview

Cotiviti is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Tax team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Tax, you will provide support for both income and indirect tax areas. The position offers an exciting opportunity for growth within the Company.



Responsibilities

    Liaison with external consultants to support state and local income/franchise tax compliance.
  • Prepare supporting workpapers including apportionment workpapers, estimate and extension workpapers.
  • Prepare and/or review indirect tax filings including sales/use tax, gross receipts tax, business licenses, property taxes and other similar taxes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliations.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual provision process with a focus on SALT and indirect tax accruals.
  • Respond to notices from state and local tax authorities by gathering data, drafting responses, and liaising with auditors as needed.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives, nexus analyses and process improvements aimed at minimizing tax exposure and increasing efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation to support compliance and internal/external reporting requirements.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
  • Master's in Tax degree or CPA a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in state and local tax compliance, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Solid understanding of multistate income/franchise and indirect tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain focused in a remote environment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.

Base compensation ranges from $65,000 to $90,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
