JOB SUMMARY: As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Corporate Controller and play a key role in managing complex accounting transactions for government contracts. This position is primarily responsible for revenue recognition, cost allocation to job transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with federal regulations and company policies. Location: This position requires on-site support at the Corporate office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.



PRIMARY DUTIES:



  • Responsible for the timely completion of monthly general ledger reconciliations (bank accounts, prepaid accounts, accrued liabilities, deferred costs, etc.) revenue recognition, preparing journal entries, and maintenance of fixed asset records.
  • Manage vendor set-up and maintenance.
  • Initiate weekly and monthly banking transactions to vendors and joint venture partners, monitor line of credit compliance, and prepare monthly certification of line of credit borrowing base.
  • Support monthly allocation of costs to job transactions details, distribute cost reports to operational managers, and ensure that monthly bills for services are sent to customers timely.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and account analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies; assist external auditors as needed.
  • Advise department managers regarding accounting processes, reports, and comparative analyses.
  • Recognize opportunities for improvement, make recommendations to the Corporate Controller, and assist with implementing improvements.
  • Process payroll transactions in the cost system, ensure that third party payroll processing occurs correctly, reconcile and resolve discrepancies in payroll and accrued leave liabilities.
  • Complete on-line Secretary of State and tax filings.
  • Completes special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Performs other accounting and finance duties as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with employees at all levels to coordinate financial processes, resolve issues, and ensure accurate reporting in support of organizational goals.



SKILLS



  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel.

    • Able to perform V-looks, Pivot Tables, "Sum-if" and concatenations


  • Appreciates the importance of being a strong team member by periodically accepting reassignment of duties, delegated tasks and working with others in a professional manner.
  • Responsive when urgency is required to meet deadlines and willing to occasionally work more hours than in a standard work week.
  • Work independently and manage tasks according to an established schedule with expected completion dates.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills by proactively addressing identified problems and collaborating to overcome obstacles.
  • Strong writing skills and experience writing detailed procedures.



REQUIREMENTS:



  • Minimum of 3 years' of experience working in accounting including revenue recognition, job costing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
  • 1-2 years' experience applying Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) in a government contracting environment.
  • 1 year of experience managing monthly close schedule, including assigning tasks, coordinating with team members, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
  • 1 year of experience supporting or participating in DCAA audits.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Familiar with DoD Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)
  • Experience with JAMIS, calculation of cost pools and applied rates, and preparation of Internal Cost Submission reports.
  • Understand of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)



RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years working in an accounting department and involved in the monthly financial statement close process.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting or applicable degree
