SUMMARY:

Reporting to theVice President,GU Marketing, theSr.Director,RCCMarketingStrategywill lead the development of the three-year strategic brand plan,annual strategic plan, andline extension launch planningfor possible newRCCproductsand/or indications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the cross functional effort required to generate and refresh theRCC3 yearand annualstrategic brand plans and competitive readiness plans

  • Establish a strategic framework and lead potential joint commercial collaborations with partner organizations

  • Communicate and ensure organizational alignment toRCCstrategicbrandplan

  • Co-manage theindicationfinancial plan

  • Collaborate with the commercial operations team to ensure effective forecast developmentforRCC

  • Supportthe brand by conducting periodic, deep-dive market assessments

  • Collaboratewith commercial operations to optimize market research effectingRCCbrand strategy

  • Driveappropriate choices for required target product profile

  • Collaborate with Sales Operations for development of sales incentives and sales analytics

  • Responsible for managing theRCCbrand budget and supports necessary ROI analysis

  • EngagewithGUkey customers and accounts to develop market insights

  • ExecuteRCCstrategic programs as required by the brand

  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conduct

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly superviseemployee(s). Indirectly superviseemployees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisors

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Education:

  • Master's degree in related discipline and13years of related experience; or

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline and15years of related experience; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experience

  • Sales, sales management, and managed care experiences are plus

  • Oncology experience isrequired

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to develop sound strategic concepts and clearly articulate these to brand and cross-functional team members

  • Cross functional leadership with the ability to build consensus and drive key decisions

  • High level of learning agility; comprehends all aspects of themarket placethat effect current and future brand performance (e.g. coverage, distribution, sales incentives, regulatory, and finance)

  • Effective presentation and written communication skills

  • Understanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processes

  • Knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for both injectable and specialty oral medications

  • Knowledge of managed care environment, including pharmacy and medical benefit design

  • Strong command of MS Excel and financial modeling ability

  • Project management skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $252,500 - $358,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors. In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
