The University of Arizona's Department of Computer Science invites you to apply for the role of Research Data Support Specialist II. This entry-level temporary position supports the Department of Computer Science in conducting research on interaction mechanisms for 3D visualizations. Specifically, the project explores an interface that enables users to select and manipulate objects within a 3D environment using natural language. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Enter and collect scatterplot datasets in local data storage for model training and visualization testing.
- Input, review, and consolidate a variety of performance evaluation data collected for benchmarking interaction mechanisms' performance.
- Assist in preparing analysis reports of the collected datasets and performance evaluation results, including simple chart generation and documentation of the datasets and evaluation procedures.
- Maintain source code for natural language interaction pipelines, such as documentation of the source code, preparing usage manuals, and identification of library dependencies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to share information and improve data-handling processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Software Engineering: Skilled in maintaining code for libraries, APIs, and deep learning pipelines.
- Data Visualization: Ability to design charts using libraries or platforms such as D3.js and Tableau.
- Effective Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts into clear documentation and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
