Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter (Remote - Eastern Time Zone) We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter to join a team where accuracy, compliance, and strong decision-making truly matter. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all reviewed assets meet investor, agency, and regulatory guidelines. About the Role As a Mortgage Fulfillment Underwriter, you will apply your deep knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting principles, and compliance standards to deliver accurate decisions across a full range of loans. Your expertise directly supports operational efficiency and loan quality, and you'll collaborate with internal partners to help ensure every file meets required standards. Key Responsibilities * Underwrite a full range of mortgage loans, including FHA * Review loan applications and documentation for completeness and accuracy * Work with clients to prepare applications and resolve outstanding issues * Partner with compliance officers to ensure adherence to Federal, State, and Local requirements * Issue timely approval or denial decisions * Support guideline adherence and high-quality underwriting standards * Perform additional duties as assigned and aligned with organizational values Must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours. Required Skills and Expertise * Mortgage industry knowledge * Advanced underwriting experience * DE Underwriter experience preferred * Credit review and risk assessment * Proficiency with DU and LP * Strong communication and people skills Additional Qualifications * High School Diploma * Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting fundamentals * Proficiency with automated underwriting systems * Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations, including HMDA * Familiarity with federal and state agency guidelines This role is ideal for a seasoned underwriter who values accuracy, consistency, and a role where their expertise has direct impact. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jersey City, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $35.00/hr.
