Identify, design, implement, and sustain digital solutions that improve manufacturing, supply chain, and quality operations. Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations/manufacturing teams to introduce automation and digital tools that drive process improvement and enhance data visibility and integrity. Duties include: Analyze existing manufacturing, quality, and supply chain workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for digitalization and automation; Design and implement Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) - Camstar/Opcenter, and support IT to integrate them with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools, such as SAP; Connect equipment and systems to SCADA platforms for real-time monitoring and control of operations. Process and analyze data in the cloud environment; Develop custom dashboards and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement from MES; Collaborate with Quality and IT departments to ensure solutions comply with regulatory standards, including 21 CFR Part 11; Train and provide technical guidance to end users and engineers on digital tools and updated processes; Coordinate and support cross-functional projects across manufacturing, quality, and IT domains to implement digital innovations and cybersecurity measures for IS027001 and IEC 62443; Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions. May telecommute part of the week from commuting distance to Germantown, MD per our hybrid work policy. Minimum Requirements: A Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a manufacturing engineer-related occupation. In the alternative, the employer would accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field followed by 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a manufacturing engineer-related occupation. Experience must include the following, which may have been gained concurrently: 3 years of experience with manufacturing set up; 2 years of experience implementing and supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)-Camstar/ Opcenter in a regulated manufacturing environment; 2 years of experience preparing and updating technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and protocols; 2 years of experience with an ERP System, including SAP or JD Edwards; 2 years of experience running User Acceptance Testing to validate the functionality and performance of digital solutions; 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams to implement digital solutions and automation in operational processes; 1 year of experience of working with an Ignition SCADA system; 1 year of experience using data reporting tools with programming languages, including SQL.
